"I completed the Wilderness First Aid Course in June 2004. I learned a lot and really enjoyed it - I expected it to be good but it was better! It’s given me a proper First Aid at Work qualification, which I wanted, but with a lot of emphasis on outdoors / wilderness situations. We also learned plenty of stuff beyond what the certificate requires which could be good to know if you’re a long way from base. We practiced a lot on dummies and on each other, with some great scenarios involving wounds, fractures, chainsaws, RTAs, drowning and working at night. There was a lot of it, but it was presented a bit at a time with plenty of hands-on practice and repetition. The instructor, was first-class, very knowledgeable and entertaining with it. I’m really glad I did it. It’s given me the confidence to go further off the beaten track as well as being good for work. I hope I don’t have to use the skills but it’s great to know that they’re there."
