NCFE Certificate in Bow Making
in association with Plumpton College

This course creates a great opportunity to study in depth the real art and craft of bow and arrow making. The course focuses on wooden bows found and used in Northern Europe from pre historical creations such as the Holmgaard and Meare Heath to medieval long bows. It is anticipated you will have a chance to make several designs and study in depth their application and design implications. The final one being made using all the knowledge gained to produce the students 'ultimate' bow.

The course is conducted in a block format on Mondays and Tuesdays and leads to an NCFE level three craft qualification. The qualification is gained through the production of a portfolio and for the purpose of recording, access to a digital camera would be advantageous. The course will be taught using workshop facilities and takes place in West Sussex.
